Workforce Strategy

Workforce development is a key program area of LGMA and ACELG consortium partners. This important focus began in 2006 when LGMA hosted a national forum in Canberra to explore and define skill shortages and develop a coordinated, sector-wide action plan to address the impact of these shortages. The Workforce Development National Reference Group, which started as the National Skills Shortage Steering Committee, evolved out of the 2006 forum, as did the future Workforce Development Forums and the National Workforce Strategy and its precursor, which spawned ACELG.
