2014 - ICMA Legislative Process and Governance Fellowship - Timor Leste
LGMA is continuing to work with ICMA and the Association of Indonesian Municipalities (APEKSI) to select representatives to participate in the Legislative Process and Governance Professional Fellows Program in the US.
The 2014 Program offers fellowship places to 30 professionals from Timor-Leste and Indonesia and 10 participants from the United States. With a focus on legislative processes and governance practices, accountability, and transparency, Fellows learn practical skills around local governments’ role and responsibility in civic engagement and promoting transparency while also fostering interaction with leaders from the federal, state, and local organisations.
The program is made possible by the Office of Citizen Exchanges of the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
The second cohort of participants will visit the US in October 2014. Participants capture and share their experiences and observations in the ICMA's Professional Fellows Exchange Program blog.
