A jumping crocodile cruise is a must for any visitor to Darwin. Witness territorial crocodiles at close range for exceptional photo opportunities. Experience the wonders of the Fogg Dam Conservation Reserve, one of several parks that provide havens for wildlife in Darwin’s developing rural fringe. One of the few wetland systems accessible to visitors all year round, we’ll experience magnificent wading birds and join a guided walk to learn more about the area.

Be touched by the most ancient human culture on earth and be inspired by the wealth and diversity of Darwin’s art, culture and heritage. Discover the traditional indigenous Dreamtime stories behind the region’s landscapes and wildlife. Admire the abundance of local art, and be amazed by the incredible stories behind the region’s history, ancient and modern. The Aboriginal cultural highlight tour includes: history, clapstick painting, basket weaving and group canvas paintings.

This year’s study tour will cater to a range of interests, from major infrastructure and economic developments through to historical landmarks and wetlands and biodiversity management. The itinerary includes Cullen Bay, Mindil Beach and Fannie Bay, East Arm Industrial Precinct, Sanctuary Lakes in Palmerston, Lyons Community Centre and the Larrakeyah Naval Base.

INDIGENOUS EMPLOYMENT AND LEADERSHIP IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT - a Two-Way Proposition Roundtable
Make the most of your Congress experience, and take part in the conversation on Indigenous employment in local government. A Roundtable will be held prior to Congress, focussing on Indigenous employment in remote areas, where Indigenous workforce participation is relatively high, but Indigenous representation at the senior management level is very low. The Roundtable aims to facilitate a genuine, two-way dialogue on this issue, and will also feature case studies and personal journeys.
