Introduction
The National Congress & Business Expo is LGMA’s major national event, held annually for over 33 years. It is Australia’s premium forum for exploring and analysing current and emerging sector issues. Conducted over four days, it is well established as a key annual forum. The LGMA Business Expo brings together representatives from Australia's leading suppliers of goods and services to local government under one roof at one time. Demonstrations, product information and obligation free advice will ensure councils stay up-to-date with all the latest innovations and offerings in order to be of the most benefit to their respective communities.
Sponsorship and Exhibitor opportunities
The Business Expo at the national congress is an opportunity for organisations, small and large, to promote, network and showcase their products(s) and/or service(s) to the local government sector. The event is designed to provide ample networking opportunities and a high level of exposure to the key decision makers from local governments in Australia and the Pacific.
Who will attend?
Around 500 delegates from the local government sector in Australia and the Pacific. Our delegates typically consist of:
- 75% of senior management (CEOs, General Managers and senior to middle managers)
- 25% of elected representatives (Mayors and councillors)

Local government spends approximately $1.8 billion per year and is one of Australia's most diverse institutions with over 160,000 employees responsible for over 100 functions. The Business Expo presents an excellent opportunities for organisations that would like to:

Exhibit at the Business Expo
The Business Expo is an opportunity to network, showcase, promote and market your products and/or services to key decision makers of local government on a national or state level, in a professional environment designed to encourage personal interaction. The Business Expo, welcome reception, luncheons and morning and afternoon teas will be held in the expo hall to ensure maximum exposure and networking opportunities.
Exhibitors can typically choose from the following:
- A single stand (3m x 3m); or
- A double stand (6m 3m)
Exhibit booths all comprise of:
- A single or double trade display booth the entire duration of the Congress and Business Expo;
- Velcro compatible walls;
- Two spot lights per sing stand;
- One powerpoint per single stand;
- Carpeted floor; and
- Your company name displayed on a fascia above your booth.
Exposure opportunities
In addition to the above, your business will also receive
- Numerous opportunities to talk with and interact with congress delegates during all refreshment events that take place in the expo hall;
- Two complimentary representatives to staff your stand (per stand) for the duration of the event
- All day catering;
- Two complimentary registrations for the formal welcome reception, which will take place in the expo hall;
- Admission to congress sessions for your nominated stand representatives;
- Two congress satchels per stand; and a
- Complimentary listing on LGMA National's on-line Business Directory in the lead-up to the congress and for a further six months after the event.
